Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can cancel a Happy Sack pre-order, get a refund, or return a sack. It is part of our Terms of Service, and by placing an order you agree to both.

In Short: Cancel any pre-order for a full refund before it ships. If we miss our June 10, 2026 ship date, you can cancel for a full refund. Damaged or defective sacks get a free replacement or refund within 30 days of delivery. Custom and bulk orders have different rules.

1. Cancelling a pre-order before it ships

You can cancel any Happy Sack pre-order for a full refund at any time before the order leaves our facility. Just email info@happysack.co with your order number (it's on the Stripe receipt we sent you at checkout). We'll confirm the cancellation and issue the refund.

2. The Pre-Order Promise (if we miss June 10)

Every pre-order is scheduled to ship on or before June 10, 2026. If we won't meet that date for your order, we'll email you with a revised ETA. From that email you can:

  • Keep your order at the new ETA — nothing else to do, we'll ship as soon as we can; or
  • Cancel for a full refund back to your original payment method — just reply to the email or write to info@happysack.co.

You may also request a refund at any later point if the order has not yet shipped.

3. Damaged, defective, or wrong-item orders

If your sack arrives damaged, defective, or is not the item you ordered, contact us within 30 days of delivery at info@happysack.co and include:

  • your order number;
  • a photo of the issue (and of the shipping label, if the package was damaged in transit);
  • whether you'd prefer a free replacement or a full refund.

We cover return shipping in this case if a return is needed. We may ask you to ship the item back so we can learn from the defect, but we will not delay your replacement or refund waiting on the return to arrive.

4. Change of mind after delivery

Once your sack has been delivered, you may return it for a refund within 14 days of delivery if it is in unused, original condition. To qualify:

  • the sack must be unwashed, unkicked, and free of pet hair, smoke, or damage;
  • you must request the return at info@happysack.co with your order number before sending anything back;
  • you are responsible for return shipping costs (we'll refund the product price, not the original outbound shipping).

Sacks returned in clearly used condition may be refused or refunded at a reduced amount.

5. Non-returnable items

For hygiene and production reasons, the following are not eligible for change-of-mind returns after delivery (the Pre-Order Promise and damaged/defective policy above still apply):

  • custom-printed or custom-colorway sacks made to your specifications;
  • sacks that show signs of use, washing, or odor;
  • items marked "final sale" at checkout.

6. Custom and bulk orders

Custom and bulk orders (50+ units, custom colorways, or custom prints) are produced specifically for you. Because of that:

  • Before production begins: you may cancel for a full refund of any deposit paid.
  • After production begins: deposits are non-refundable, and the order cannot be cancelled.
  • Defects: if the finished units are defective, mis-printed, or do not match the approved proof, we will replace the affected units at no charge or, at our option, refund the affected units.

Specific terms for your custom order will be set out in the quote and invoice you sign off on, and those terms control where they differ from this policy.

7. How to request a refund or return

Email info@happysack.co with:

  • Your order number (from your Stripe receipt);
  • The reason (cancelling pre-order, defect, change of mind, etc.);
  • Photos, if there's a defect or shipping damage.

We'll reply within 2 business days with next steps.

8. How long refunds take

Approved refunds are issued back to the original payment method through Stripe. Most refunds appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, but the exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer. We'll send you a confirmation email the moment the refund is issued on our side.
